Luke Doyle's BIO

Luke R Doyle was born July 2, 1981 in Mineville, NS.  He is a loving brother to his sister Bridgit, and son to his parents Bob and Judy.  Luke’s interests include many sports – swimming, and especially hockey.  GO PENS GO!  He is passionate about music and watching movies.  Luke comes from a large extended family of Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and many cousins.
Luke always looks forward to attending all family gatherings.  He is a very caring person who has a personality that draws people to him.  This is evident in the many great friends that he has had since childhood, as well as the many new friends he has made through his love of riding motorcycles. In 2001, at the age of 19, Luke decided to attend AMI in Daytona, Florida to become a motorcycle technician.  It was apparent that Luke was a natural as he graduated in the top 5 of his class, receiving a diploma as a motorcycle technician specializing in Kawasaki’s. Luke

Upon graduation he returned home for a time, and then moved to Windsor, Ontario, where he was employed at a Motorcycle shop for two years.  He again returned home where he was employed outside of the motorcycle industry.  He was able to secure a position at Pro Cycle in Dartmouth.  While employed at Pro Cycle, Luke applied for a more secure position at Freedom Cycle and was interviewed by Andrew Murray - he was immediately hired.  Luke, always the conscientious individual, who always thinks of others, is dedicated to the safety of riders and their bikes that he works on.   Luke is a proponent of the awareness of visibility of all bikers.

Luke's Accident

On July 26, 2009 while riding to Rainbow Haven Beach with his friends Frankie and Justin, Luke hit a vehicle that suddenly turned into his path.  As a result of the accident, Luke sustained many serious injuries including the loss of his left eye, impaired vision in the right eye, a broken pelvis and right leg, a broken left forearm and wrist, and extensive reconstruction to his face.  He also sustained burns on his back requiring skin grafts. Luke has a very long road to recovery; with the constant support of his family and friends Luke has demonstrated his determination, showing great and wonderful improvements thus far

All monies raised will help provide Luke with only the highest level and quality of care - in learning to walk again, and to hopefully helping him regain the vision in his remaining eye.
